The City of Dillon has two historic districts. Dillon is a Certified Local Government working with the SC Department of Archives and History and the National Park Service to preserve the unique characteristics of Dillon
The Historic Overlay Ordinance requires that properties and landscaping in the district be regulated by the Board of Architectural Review (BAR). Any changes in appearance, other than regular maintenence, requires a Certificate of Appropriateness from the BAR.
